Bill Plater Jones, First Baseman for the Bricklyn Stackers. Consistent with his family name, Jones excels at the plate! (excuse that bit of Bricklyn humor). Note also the irony that home plate is actually a tile and not a plate. For reasons we have not been able to discover, Bricklynites never changed the expression “home plate” to the more technically accurate “home tile.”

Swiftbrick Field is named in memory of the late Tom Swiftbrick, Bricklyn’s first (and most famous) astronaut, and home of the Bricklyn Stackers baseball team. Swiftbrick was a long-time regular at Stackers games.

Note: the Stackers compete in the Inland Sports League, a sports league formed through the efforts of the League of Inland Cities.
