Inland Communities refer to those LEGO cities and towns around the world. In contrast Outland Communities refer to the non-LEGO / human cities and towns. A LEGO person is called an Inlander, regardless of where in they LEGO world they live. In contrast, an Outlander is a person living in a human-based community.
Many Inland cities, including the three constituting the Realm of Bricklyn, were established during the great “period of disassociation” (circa 1960-1964) during which the Danish Realm dramatically shrunk in size. As a result a series of new, smaller Realms (such as Bricklyn’s) were founded.
In 1969 many of these Inland Communities came together to form the League of Inland Cities, which seeks to strengthen economic and cultural ties among LEGO peoples worldwide.
