During the early 1980s a number of LEGO-based cities and towns in the Danish Realm voluntarily “disassociated” from the Realm, and then re-associated into new, smaller LEGO-centric “Inland Realms.” This was the case with the Cities of Bricklyn, South Bricklyn, and Bricklyn Junction, Vermont, which re-associated as the Tripartite Realm of Bricklyn in 1981.

In 1985 many of these new Realms also banded together to form the influential economic and cultural alliance known as the League of Inland Cities.
